About Us

The Sedgwick Museum’s mission is to bring positive benefit to people by sharing knowledge and understanding of the Earth Sciences.  We do this by engaging with the public, supporting research and teaching, and by playing a key role within the wider Earth science, museums and heritage sectors. The Museum’s collections are of national and international historic and scientific importance, comprising more than a million rocks, fossils, minerals and associated archival material acquired over more than 250 years.
