Volunteering

Are you interested in Earth sciences? Love museums and want to get involved? Or maybe you are looking to build your CV, be part of a team and get to know more people. Volunteering might be for you! We have regular opportunities for volunteering at the Museum throughout the year - when roles are available, all the details can be found here.

Work Experience

The Museum actively participates in annual work experience initiatives as part of the University Cambridge Museums group. We aim to provide targeted opportunities for the local community via UCM and for neurodiverse students (direct applications welcome) each year. 

Update for 2026: Applications are now closed for work experience at the Sedgwick Museum in 2026

We encourage all students to consider volunteering at the Sedgwick Museum or other UCMs as an alternative way to get involved.
